LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY BOLT

   
   

   1. Install the back door stay bolt.

      Torque:

      22 N*m  { 224 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf }

2. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

   Note

   
   

   • Avoid touching the piston rod as much as possible to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinder while servicing.

   • Do not wear cotton gloves or other similar materials when handling the piston rod. Fibers may attach to the rod and result in gas leaks.

   • Do not apply any horizontal load to the luggage compartment door support assembly in order to prevent the piston rod from deforming.

   
   

   1. 

      Engage the 2 ball joints to install the luggage compartment door support assembly.

      Note

      Install the luggage compartment door support assembly while supporting the luggage door by hand.

   2. Check that the ball joints are engaged securely and the luggage compartment door support assembly cannot be pulled off.

3. INSTALL BUSH

   
   

   1. Engage the 2 claws to install the bush.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

4. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY SPRING

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Alignment Mark (Yellow)

      Engage the 2 guides to install the back door stay spring.

      Note

      Make sure that the alignment mark (yellow) is on the rear inner side.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

5. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH (for RH Side)

   
   

   1. Engage the clip and guide to install the luggage compartment trim cover RH.

   2. Engage the claw.

   3. 

      Install a new clip (A).

   4. Install the 4 clips.

6. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (for RH Side)

   
   

   1. w/ Deck Side Trim Box:

      
      

      1. Engage the 5 guides and clip to install the deck side trim box RH.

7. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

   
   

   1. Install the 2 rope hook assemblies with the 2 bolts.

   2. Engage the 2 claws to close the 2 covers.

8. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH (for LH Side)

   
   

   1. Engage the clip and guide to install the luggage compartment trim cover LH.

   2. Engage the claw.

   3. 

      Install a new clip (A).

   4. Install the 4 clips.

9. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)

   
   

   1. Install the 2 rope hook assemblies with the 2 bolts.

   2. Engage the 2 claws to close the 2 covers.

10. INSTALL FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

    
    

    1. Insert the front luggage compartment trim cover as shown in the illustration.

       
    2. 

       Fastener

       Engage the 2 fasteners as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the front luggage compartment trim cover with the 8 clips.

11. INSTALL FRONT UPPER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

    
    

    1. 

       Insert the front upper luggage compartment trim cover as shown in the illustration.

    2. 

       Connect the front upper luggage compartment trim cover as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

       Note

       Do not damage the front upper luggage compartment trim cover.

    3. Install the front upper luggage compartment trim cover with the 8 clips.

12. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY

13. INSTALL REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

    
    

    1. Engage the 6 clips to install the rear luggage compartment trim cover.

    2. Install the 3 clips.

14. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY (w/o Spare Tire)

    
    

    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the spare wheel cover tray.

15. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

    
    

    1. Install the No. 1 luggage compartment trim mat.

16. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE COVER RH
