PROCEDURE

   1. 

      Engage the claw to install the ultrasonic sensor clip.

3. Click here

   INSTALL NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER

   Tip:
   

   • Perform this step only when necessary.

   • If a No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer has been removed, replace it with a new one. Install the ultrasonic sensor with clip with a new No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer as a set.

   • Use the same procedure for all No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainers.

   
   
   1. 

      Engage the 2 claws and install a new No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer to the ultrasonic sensor with clip.

   2. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.

      
      

      1. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

   3. 

      *a	18 mm (0.709 in.)

      Cover the sensor installation hole with a 18 mm (0.709 in.) circular piece of tape.

   4. 

      Primer

      Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer installation area.

      Note:
      

      • Use a clean brush or felt.

      • Do not touch the rear bumper assembly until the primer has dried.

   5. Confirm that the primer has completely dried by touching the rear bumper assembly. Then remove the tape.

   6. Peel off the release paper from the new No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer.

   7.

      Align the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer with ultrasonic sensor with the mark on the rear bumper cover and install it as shown in the illustration.

      Note:
      

      • Insert the sensor tip into the sensor installation hole of the rear bumper cover.

      • Ensure that the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer is within the scribed line.

      • The double-sided tape of a No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer will deteriorate if it is detached. Make sure to replace the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer with a new one when reattachment is necessary.

      Tip:
      

      • Align the connector with the protrusion of the mark when connecting it.

      • Press the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer with a force of 30 N (3.0 kgf) for 3 seconds and install the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer firmly so that there is no clearance between the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer and rear bumper cover.

   8. Engage the clamp.

   9. Connect the connector.

   INSTALL ULTRASONIC SENSOR WITH CLIP

   
   

   1. When replacing only the ultrasonic sensor with clip:

      
      

      1. Engage the 2 claws to install the ultrasonic sensor with clip.

      2. Engage the clamp.

      3. Connect the connector.
