DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the combination meter assembly detects a malfunction in the oil temperature sensor circuit.

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:


  • Average input signal of oil temperature sensor is 513 kΩ or more for 3 seconds or more.

  • Harness or connector

  • Oil temperature sensor

  • Combination meter assembly

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    READ VALUE USING GTS (ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.


      1. Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List
        Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
        Engine Oil Temperature Engine oil temperature Min.: 0°C (32°F), Max.: 255°C (491°F)

        Engine oil temperature receiver gauge indication:

        When the indicator is in the center of the gauge: 80 to 105°C (176 to 221°F)

        When the indicator is in the red zone: 140°C (284°F) or more

        		 -



      1. Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List
        Tester Display
        Engine Oil Temperature




      OK
      Engine oil temperature displayed on the GTS is almost the same as the engine oil temperature receiver gauge indication.

    1. Remove the oil temperature sensor.

    2. Inspect the oil temperature sensor.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the O3 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O3-1 (GAGE) - F55-2 (OT+) Always Below 1 Ω
      O3-24 (GND) - F55-1 (OT-) Always Below 1 Ω
      O3-1 (GAGE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O3-24 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
