DESCRIPTION

The radio receiver assembly and stereo component amplifier assembly are connected by the AVC-LAN communication line.

This DTC is stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the radio receiver assembly and stereo component amplifier assembly.

  • The stereo component amplifier assembly is/was not connected while the engine switch is/was on (IG) or on (ACC)

  • Communication between the master unit and the stereo component amplifier assembly is not possible when the engine is started


  • Stereo component amplifier assembly power source circuit

  • AVC-LAN circuit between radio receiver assembly and stereo component amplifier assembly

  • Stereo component amplifier assembly

  • Radio receiver assembly

  • Harness or connector

The radio receiver assembly is the master unit.

    CHECK DTC


    1. If DTC B15C3 is output, perform troubleshooting for DTC B15C3 first.

    CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

      Tip:
      • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.

      • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

    REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).

      Note:

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

    1. Clear the DTCs.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE)


    1. Disconnect the T20 and T21 stereo component amplifier assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T20-3 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      T20-18 (GND2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      T20-1 (+B) - T20-3 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      T20-16 (+B2) - T20-3 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      T21-12 (ACC) - T20-3 (GND) Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

      REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the O70 radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the T21 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O70-7 (TX1+) - T21-8 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
      O70-8 (TX1-) - T21-7 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
      O70-7 (TX1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O70-8 (TX1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. Click here

    REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the stereo component amplifier assembly.

    2. Clear the DTCs.

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.
