DESCRIPTION

This DTC will be stored if the power steering ECU assembly determines that the assist map is not written in the ECU.

Note:

If the power steering ECU assembly has been replaced, perform assist map writing, rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration.

    PERFORM ASSIST MAP WRITING


    1. Perform assist map writing.

      Click here


      1. Chassis > EMPS > Utility
        Tester Display
        Signal Check




    2. Check for DTCs.

      Click here


      1. Chassis > EMPS > Trouble Codes


      Result

      DTC C1581 is output. A
      DTC C1581 is not output. B
      Note:

      DTC C1581 is cleared after the assist map is written.

    CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check for DTCs.

    1. Check if the related part has the correct part number.

    1. Select Health Check on the GTS screen and check if system DTCs for a related part are output.

      Tip:

      If system DTCs for a related part are stored, assist map writing to the power steering ECU assembly may not be performed properly.
