DESCRIPTION

If a large difference between the request value and actual value of the motor angle is detected for a certain period of time, a DTC is stored.

Diagnosis Condition:


  • Both the IG power supply and PIG power supply are 10 V or more when the TVD system is activated.

Abnormal condition:


  • Large difference between the request value and actual value of the motor angle

Malfunction Time:


  • 0.05 seconds or more

Trip logic:


  • 1 trip detection logic


  • Torque vectoring differential ECU assembly

  • Torque transfer module motor sub-assembly (RH side)

  • Torque vectoring differential FDU (Final Drive Unit)


  • Master Warning Light: Comes on

  • Multi-information Display Error Message: Comes on

C2A21 LH Differential Motor Angle Too High

Diagnosis Condition:


  • Both the IG power supply and PIG power supply are 10 V or more when the TVD system is activated.

Abnormal condition:


  • Large difference between the request value and actual value of the motor angle

Malfunction Time:


  • 0.05 seconds or more

Trip logic:


  • 1 trip detection logic


  • Torque vectoring differential ECU assembly

  • Torque transfer module motor sub-assembly (LH side)

  • Torque vectoring differential FDU (Final Drive Unit)

Tip:
  • If the torque vectoring differential ECU assembly has been replaced, perform "All Learning".

  • If the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly has been replaced or removed and installed, perform "Motor Exchange Learning".

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK DTC OUTPUT (TVD)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Chassis / TVD / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check for DTCs.


      1. Chassis > TVD > Trouble Codes


      Result
      Result Proceed to
      DTC C2A20 is output. A
      DTC C2A21 is output. B
      DTCs other than DTC C2A20 and DTC C2A21 are output. C
      DTCs are not output. D
    5. Turn the engine switch off.


  2. Click here

    CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (TVD)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Chassis / TVD / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read the freeze frame data of DTC C2A20.


      1. Chassis > TVD > Trouble Codes



      1. Chassis > TVD
        Tester Display

        RH Motor Angle Target Value (Main CPU -> Sub1 CPU)
        RH Real Motor Angle Value

      The difference between "RH Real Motor Angle Value" and "RH Motor Angle Monitoring Value" is -20 degrees or less in "0" of the freeze frame data.

      ("RH Real Motor Angle Value" - "RH Motor Angle Monitoring Value" = -20 degrees or less)

      A

      1. When all of the following conditions are met:
      2. All values of "RH Motor Angle Target Value (Main CPU - Sub1 CPU)" of "0", "-1" and "-2" in the freeze frame data are 0 degrees.

      3. The value of "RH Real Motor Angle Value" listed under "0" in the freeze frame data is 300 degrees or more.

      4. The value of "IG Voltage" listed under "0" in the freeze frame data is 10 V or more.

    5. Turn the engine switch off.

    READ VALUE USING GTS (RH REAL MOTOR ANGLE VALUE)


    1. Remove the torque vectoring differential FDU (Final Drive Unit).

      Click here

    2. Remove the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly (RH side).

    3. Connect the wire harness to the V5 connector of the removed torque transfer module motor sub-assembly (RH side).

    4. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    5. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      Note:

      Do not start the engine with the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly disconnected from the torque transfer module as the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly may start moving.

    6. Enter the following menus: Chassis / TVD / Data List / RH Real Motor Angle Value.

    7. Read "RH Real Motor Angle Value" in the Data List while rotating the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly.


      1. Chassis > TVD > Data List
        Tester Display
        RH Real Motor Angle Value




      Result
      Result Proceed to
      The value of "RH Real Motor Angle Value" in the Data List changes in accordance with the rotation of the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly. A
      The value of "RH Real Motor Angle Value" in the Data List does not change in accordance with the rotation of the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly. Or the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly do not rotate smoothly. B
    8. Turn the engine switch off.

    9. Install the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly (RH side) and torque vectoring differential FDU (Final Drive Unit).

    1. Remove the torque vectoring differential FDU (Final Drive Unit).

    2. Remove the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly (LH side).

    3. Connect the wire harness to the V7 connector of the removed torque transfer module motor sub-assembly (LH side).

    4. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    5. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      Note:

      Do not start the engine with the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly disconnected from the torque transfer module as the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly may start moving.

    6. Enter the following menus: Chassis / TVD / Data List / LH Real Motor Angle Value.

    7. Read "LH Real Motor Angle Value" in the Data List while rotating the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly.


      1. Chassis > TVD > Data List
        Tester Display
        LH Real Motor Angle Value




      Result
      Result Proceed to
      The value of "LH Real Motor Angle Value" in the Data List changes in accordance with the rotation of the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly. A
      The value of "LH Real Motor Angle Value" in the Data List does not change in accordance with the rotation of the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly. Or the gears of the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly do not rotate smoothly. B
    8. Turn the engine switch off.

    9. Install the torque transfer module motor sub-assembly (LH side) and torque vectoring differential FDU (Final Drive Unit).
