PROCEDURE
REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY
REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY
Using SST and a hammer, release the staked part of the lock nut.
Note
Use SST with the tapered part facing the shaft.
Do not modify the tip of SST with a grinder or other device.
Completely release the staked part of the lock nut before removing it.
Do not damage the threads of the shaft.

Using SST and a 30 mm deep socket wrench, remove the lock nut.
Remove SST.
Tap the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly with a plastic hammer to remove it.

Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.
Note
Do not damage the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.
REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL
Using SST, remove the automatic transmission rear oil seal.
INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REAR OIL SEAL

Using SST and a hammer, install a new automatic transmission rear oil seal.

| 3.3 to 3.7 mm (0.130 to 0.146 in.) |
Coat the lip of the automatic transmission rear oil seal with MP grease.
INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY

Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal.
| Standard Depth |

| 0 to 0.3 mm (0 to 0.0118 in.) |
Coat the lip of the oil seal with MP grease.
Install the automatic transmission flange yoke assembly.

| *b | Turn |
Using SST and a 30 mm deep socket wrench, install a new lock nut.
Using a chisel and hammer, securely stake the lock nut.
