ENGINE OIL COOLER(for Water Cooled Type) INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When the oil cooler assembly (for air cooled type) has been removed/installed or the oil cooler hose sub-assembly has been disconnected/reconnected, check the engine oil level after warming up the engine oil to between 100°C and 120°C to open the thermostat between the engine and oil cooler assembly (for air cooled type).

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY


    1. Clean the installation surfaces of the oil thermostat housing assembly.

    2. Install a new O-ring to the oil thermostat housing assembly.

    3. Clean the installation surfaces of the oil cooler assembly.

    4. Install a new O-ring to the oil cooler assembly.

    5. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the oil cooler union bolt.

    6. Install the oil thermostat housing assembly, oil cooler assembly and a new gasket with the oil cooler union bolt and bolt.

      Torque:
      Oil Cooler Union Bolt
      59 N*m  { 602 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf }
      Bolt
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    7. Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose and No. 8 water by-pass hose and slide the 2 clips to secure them.

  2. ADD ENGINE OIL
