DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) is connected to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication.

Note:

When replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), perform zero point calibration and store system information.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

      Click here

  2. Click here

    PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)


    1. Select the Active Test using the GTS.

      Click here


      1. Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRC > Active Test
        Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
        Slip Indicator Light Slip indicator light Indicator light ON/OFF Can be observed on the combination meter assembly



      1. Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRC > Data List
        Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
        Slip Indicator Light Slip indicator light ON or OFF

        ON: Indicator light on

        OFF: Indicator light off

      1. Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRC > Active Test
        Active Test Display

        Slip Indicator Light





    2. When performing the slip Indicator Light Active Test, check slip Indicator Light in the Data List.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      Slip indicator light in the Data List does not change using the Active Test. A
      Slip indicator light in the Data List turns ON/OFF using the Active Test. B
      Tip:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing parts.

    INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Perform an Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the GTS.

      1. Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test
        Tester Display
        Indicat. Lamp Slip




    3. Check the combination meter assembly.

      OK
      The slip indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Active Test operation.
      Tip:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing parts.
