VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1232, C1243, C1245

DTC Code DTC Name
C1232 Deceleration Sensor
C1243 Deceleration Sensor Stuck
C1245 Abnormal Output in Deceleration Sensor

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor via CAN communication.

If there is a malfunction in the bus lines between the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and the CAN communication system, DTC U0124 (Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module) are output.

The DTCs are also output when the calibration has not been completed.

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1232 Deceleration Sensor At a vehicle speed of 10 km/h (6 mph) or more, either GL1 or GL2 (input signal) does not change for 30 seconds or more.
  • Acceleration sensor (yaw rate and acceleration sensor)

  • Acceleration sensor (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) installation

C1243 Deceleration Sensor Stuck

Any of the following is detected:

  • Output values of GL1 and GL2 do not change 16 times or more while vehicle speed decreases from 30 km/h (19 mph) to 0 km/h (0 mph).

  • Output values of GL1 and GL2 (front and rear, left and right) are outside permitted output range for 60 seconds or more.

  • Left and right output values of GL1 and GL2 are outside permitted output range for 60 seconds or more.

  • Acceleration sensor (yaw rate and acceleration sensor)

  • Acceleration sensor (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) installation

C1245 Abnormal Output in Deceleration Sensor At a vehicle speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more, the difference between the forward and backward G calculated from the acceleration sensor value and that calculated from the vehicle speed exceeds 0.35 G for 60 seconds or more.
  • Acceleration sensor (yaw rate and acceleration sensor)

  • Acceleration sensor (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) installation

Tech Tips

for C1243 and C1245: Even after the trouble areas are repaired, the ABS warning light will not go off unless the following operations are performed.

  1. Drive the vehicle at 30 km/h (19 mph) for 30 seconds or more and check that the ABS warning light goes off.

  2. Clear the DTCs.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When replacing or reinstalling the yaw rate and acceleration sensor, perform zero point calibration and store system information after clearing previously calibrated data.
