ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Tech Tips

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor.



    1. Install a new gasket to the engine coolant temperature sensor.

    2. B006777C01
      *a 19 mm Union Nut Wrench
      *b Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length

      Using a 19 mm union nut wrench, install the engine coolant temperature sensor to the front water by-pass joint.

      Torque:
      Specified tightening torque
      19.6 N*m  { 200 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      If the engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Tech Tips


      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

      • When using a 19 mm union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 30 mm (1.18 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 155 mm (6.1 in.)):

        16 N*m (163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf)

    3. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

  2. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  3. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

  4. INSTALL CENTER NO. 4 ENGINE UNDER COVER

    Click here

  5. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

    Click here

  6. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION


    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor.
