IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL SPARK PLUG

    Tech Tips

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a spark plug.



    1. Install the 8 spark plugs to the cylinder head sub-assembly and cylinder head LH.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      If a spark plug has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Tech Tips

      Install the same parts to their original positions.

  2. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing an ignition coil assembly.



    1. Install the 8 ignition coil assemblies to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH with the 8 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      If an ignition coil assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Tech Tips

      Install the same parts to their original positions.

    2. Connect the 8 ignition coil assembly connectors.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY (w/ Differential Pressure Sensor)


    1. Install the No. 1 vacuum transmitting hose assembly to the differential pressure sensor and No. 1 pipe and slide the 2 clips to secure it.

    2. Engage the clamp.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY (w/ Differential Pressure Sensor)


    1. Install the No. 2 vacuum transmitting hose assembly to the differential pressure sensor and No. 2 pipe and slide the 2 clips to secure it.

    2. Engage the clamp.

  5. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the No. 3 engine room relay block assembly with the bolt and nut.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the No. 3 engine room relay block assembly with the bolt and nut.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    2. Engage the wire harness clamp.

    3. Install the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND NO. 1 JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

    2. Engage the wire harness clamp.

    3. Install the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  9. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY (for LHD)


    1. Install the battery tray with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY (for RHD)


    1. Install the battery tray with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  11. INSTALL POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY


  12. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION


    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing an ignition coil assembly and spark plug.
