INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR WITH EDU ASSEMBLY

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Start the engine and warm it up.

    5. Inspect the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly LH.

      1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank1).

        1. Powertrain > Engine > Active Test
          Tester Display
          Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank1)

      2. Check the output angle of the VVT (VVT Target Angle #1 and VVT Change Angle #1) displayed on the GTS.

      3. Perform the Active Test with the engine speed at 1500 rpm.

        Specified Condition
Active Test Movement Order Difference between "VVT Target Angle" and "VVT Change Angle"
        0 deg → 10 deg → 20 deg → 40 deg → 10 deg → 0 deg → 10 deg → END Within 5 DegFR

If the result is not as specified, inspect the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly LH and camshaft timing gear assembly.

    6. Inspect the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly RH.

      1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank2).

        1. Powertrain > Engine > Active Test
          Tester Display
          Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank2)

      2. Check the output angle of the VVT (VVT Target Angle #2 and VVT Change Angle #2) displayed on the GTS.

      3. Perform the Active Test with the engine speed at 1500 rpm.

        Specified Condition
Active Test Movement Order Difference between "VVT Target Angle" and "VVT Change Angle"
        0 deg → 10 deg → 20 deg → 40 deg → 10 deg → 0 deg → 10 deg → END Within 5 DegFR

If the result is not as specified, inspect the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly RH and camshaft timing gear assembly.
