DESCRIPTION

While the engine is being cranked, current flows from terminal STAR of the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) to the park/neutral position switch assembly and to terminal STA of the ECM (STA signal).

  1. Click here

    CHECK WHETHER ENGINE CAN BE CRANKED


    1. Check if the engine can be cranked.

      Result

  2. Click here

    READ VALUE USING GTS (STARTER SIGNAL)


    1. Connect the GTS to DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / All Data / Starter Signal.


      1. Powertrain > Engine > Data List
        Tester Display
        Starter Signal




    5. Check the value displayed on the GTS when the engine switch is turned on (IG) and the engine is started.

    1. Remove the ST relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.

    2. Disconnect the starter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (ST relay) - F57-1 (ST) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (ST relay) or F57-1 (ST) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    5. Disconnect the TCM connector.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      F26-5 (L) - A78-20 (STA) Always Below 1 Ω
