MONITOR DESCRIPTION
In order to prevent the GPF catalyst from becoming excessively hot, if the amount of PM that has accumulated in the GPF catalyst exceeds a certain amount, engine output will be restricted while driving under high load.
If this occurs, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC.
CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
Start the engine [A].
Wait 30 seconds or more [B].
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes [C].
Read the pending DTCs.
If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.
Input the DTC: P2463.
Check the DTC judgment result.
| GTS Display | Description |
|---|---|
| NORMAL |
|
| ABNORMAL |
|
| INCOMPLETE |
|
| N/A |
|
If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE or N/A, perform steps [A] and [C] again.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data LIst / PM Depensition Ratio Bank 1 or PM Depensition Ratio Bank 2.
Read the values displayed on the GTS.
If the PM Depensition Ratio value is less than 70%, the system is normal.
If the PM Depensition Ratio value is 70% or higher, the system has a malfunction.
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
Read freeze frame data using the GTS. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
READ VALUE USING GTS (PM DEPOSITION RATIO, ASH DEPOSITION RATIO)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / PM Deposition Ratio Bank 1 and Ash Deposition Ratio Bank 1, or PM Deposition Ratio Bank 2 and Ash Deposition Ratio Bank 2.
| Tester Display |

| PM Deposition Ratio Bank1 |
| PM Deposition Ratio Bank2 |
| Ash Deposition Ratio Bank1 |
| Ash Deposition Ratio Bank2 |
Read the values displayed on the GTS.
When replacing the front exhaust pipe assembly, make sure to perform GPF Deposition Values Clear.
