WASHER MOTOR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Windshield Washer Motor and Pump Assembly)

      for Front Washer:

      
      

      1. Remove the washer jar.

      2. Disconnect the windshield washer motor and pump assembly connector.

         Tech Tips

         This check should be performed with the windshield washer motor and pump assembly installed to the washer jar.

      3. Fill the washer jar with washer fluid.

      4. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2 of the windshield washer motor and pump assembly connector.

      5. Check that washer fluid flows from the windshield washer motor and pump assembly.

         OK
         Washer motor and pump assembly operates and washer fluid flows from the windshield washer motor and pump assembly.

         If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield washer motor and pump assembly.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Windshield Washer Motor and Pump Assembly)

      for Rear Washer:

      
      

      1. Remove the washer jar.

      2. Disconnect the windshield washer motor and pump assembly connector.

         Tech Tips

         This check should be performed with the windshield washer motor and pump assembly installed to the washer jar.

      3. Fill the washer jar with washer fluid.

      4. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the windshield washer motor and pump assembly connector.

      5. Check that the windshield washer motor and pump assembly operates and washer fluid flows from the windshield washer motor and pump assembly.

         OK
         Washer motor and pump assembly operates and washer fluid flows from the windshield washer motor and pump assembly.

         If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield washer motor and pump assembly.
