SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM(w/o Occupant Classification System) Driver Side Seat Belt Warning Light does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly blinks or turns off the seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly in accordance with the state of the front seat inner belt assembly (driver seat).

Note

The seat belt warning system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure.

Tech Tips

The seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly is used for both the driver seat and front passenger seat.Check that the operation of the seat belt warning light is normal first.

If the seat belt warning light does not operate for both the driver seat and front passenger seat, replace the meter circuit plate.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      ON: Driver seat belt unfastened

  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SEAT)


    1. Remove the front seat inner belt assembly (driver seat).

    2. Inspect the front seat inner belt assembly (driver seat) (seat belt warning switch).

  3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

    2. Disconnect the 3H instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
