PERSONAL LIGHT INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)

      Component without harness connected

      (Map Light Assembly)

      Inspect the map light.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check that the map light comes on.

        Result
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

        O3-1 (+B1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O3-8 (GND9) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Front map light switches off and interior light door switch on Front map light LH and RH come on

        O3-1 (+B1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O3-8 (GND9) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Front map light switch LH on Front map light LH comes on

        O3-1 (+B1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O3-8 (GND9) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Front map light switch RH on Front map light RH comes on

        O3-1 (+B1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O3-7 (DOOR) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Front map light switches off and interior light door switch DOOR Front map light LH and RH come on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or map light assembly.

    2. Inspect the interior light door switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        O3-5 (RLMP) - O3-7 (DOOR) Interior light door switch DOOR Below 1 Ω
        O3-5 (RLMP) - O3-8 (GND9) Interior light door switch on Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the map light assembly.

    3. Inspect the switch illumination.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check that the switch illumination comes on.

        OK
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

        O3-3 (ILLB) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O3-6 (LILL) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Always Switch illumination comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the map light assembly.

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)

      (Map Light Assembly)

      Inspect the map light.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check that the map light comes on.

        Result

        O4-10 (+B1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O4-11 (GND) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Front map light switches off and interior light ON/OFF switch on Front map light LH and RH come on

        O4-10 (+B1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O4-11 (GND) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Front map light switch LH on Front map light LH comes on

        O4-10 (+B1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O4-11 (GND) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Front map light switch RH on Front map light RH comes on

        O4-10 (+B1) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O4-1 (DOOR) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Front map light switches off and interior light door switch on Front map light LH and RH come on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or map light assembly.

    2. Inspect the interior light door switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        O4-2 (RLMP) - O4-1 (DOOR) Interior light door switch on Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the map light assembly.

    3. Inspect the switch illumination.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check that the switch illumination comes on.

        OK
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

        O4-8 (ILLB) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

        O4-13 (LILL) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

        		 Always Switch illumination comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the map light assembly.
