Tech Tips

When removing the name plates, heat the vehicle body, back door outside garnish and name plates using a heat light.

Heating Temperature

Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

  • Back Door Outside Garnish

  • Name Plate

 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

CAUTION:


  • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.

  • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

Note

Do not heat the vehicle body, back door outside garnish or name plate excessively.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR NAME PLATE


    1. B004OMUC01
      *a Wooden Block
      *b Piano Wire
      B004PFI Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape around the No. 2 luggage compartment door name plate as shown in the illustration.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the back door outside garnish and No. 2 luggage compartment door name plate.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire and cut the double-sided tape that holds the No. 2 luggage compartment door name plate to the back door outside garnish to remove the No. 2 luggage compartment door name plate.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the back door outside garnish.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 BACK DOOR NAME PLATE

      B004PFI Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape around the No. 1 back door name plate as shown in the illustration.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the back door outside garnish and No. 1 back door name plate.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire and cut the double-sided tape that holds the No. 1 back door name plate to the back door outside garnish to remove the No. 1 back door name plate.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the back door outside garnish.

  3. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PLATE

      *b Piano Wire
      B004PFI Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape around the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate as shown in the illustration.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the back door outside garnish and No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire and cut the double-sided tape that holds the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate to the back door outside garnish to remove the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the back door outside garnish.

  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      B004PFI Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape around the back door ornament sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, separate the double-side tape and disengage the 2 pins to remove the back door ornament sub-assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the back door outside garnish.

  5. REMOVE SIDE PANEL EMBLEM

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      Apply protective tape around the side panel emblem as shown in the illustration.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and side panel emblem.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire and cut the double-sided tape that holds the side panel emblem to the vehicle body to remove the side panel emblem.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
