PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK SPEAKER (OPERATION CHECK)


    1. B004OVR

      Enter the "System Check Mode" screen. Refer to Check Speaker in Operation Check.

      Click here

    2. Perform the operation check above and determine the speaker that is not operating.

      Tech Tips

      If sound cannot be heard from any speaker, inspect all of them.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the F60 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G4 and G5 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies to check for an open in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F60-13 (TWR+) - G4-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-28 (TWR-) - G4-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-10 (TWL+) - G5-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-25 (TWL-) - G5-3 Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly or each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies and body ground to check for a short in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F60-13 (TWR+) or G4-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F60-28 (TWR-) or G4-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F60-10 (TWL+) or G5-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F60-25 (TWL-) or G5-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

    2. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

    3. Check that the malfunction disappears when a new or known good front No. 2 speaker assembly is installed.

      Malfunction disappears.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the F60 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the I1 and J1 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies to check for an open in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F60-15 (FR+) - I1-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-30 (FR-) - I1-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-8 (FL+) - J1-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-23 (FL-) - J1-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly or each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      F60-15 (FR+) or I1-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F60-30 (FR-) or I1-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the F60 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the K4 and L5 rear speaker assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and each of the rear speaker assemblies to check for an open in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F60-11 (RR+) - K4-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-26 (RR-) - K4-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-12 (RL+) - L5-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F60-27 (RL-) - L5-2 Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly or each of the rear speaker assemblies and body ground to check for a short in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F60-11 (RR+) or K4-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F60-26 (RR-) or K4-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the rear speaker assembly.
