PROCEDURE
INSPECT PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
Completely release the parking brake pedal.
Fully depress the parking brake pedal to engage the parking brake.
Depress the parking brake pedal again to disengage the parking brake.
Slowly depress the parking brake pedal using the specified force, and count the number of clicks.

If the parking brake pedal travel is not as specified, adjust the parking brake pedal travel.
ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
Completely release the parking brake pedal.
Turn the No. 1 wire adjusting nut until the parking brake pedal travel is corrected to within the specified range.

Note
If the No. 1 wire adjusting nut has been removed from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly, replace the No. 1 wire adjusting nut with a new one.
Operate the parking brake pedal 3 to 4 times, and check the parking brake pedal travel.

Check that the parking brake does not drag.

Release the parking brake pedal and check that the clearance between the rear disc brake cylinder assembly operation lever and the stopper is as specified below.

| 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.) or less |
If the clearance is not as specified, replace the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
INSPECT BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
When operating the parking brake pedal, check that the brake warning light illuminates.
