CHECK FOR DTCS
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
Check for DTCs and freeze frame data, and then write them down.
Check the details of the DTCs.
Tech Tips

Both Confirmed (Current DTC) and Pending (Pending DTC) record freeze frame data.
CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA
If a DTC is present, select it in order to display its freeze frame data.
Read the freeze frame data recorded when the DTC was stored.
CHECK FOR DTCS (CAN BUS CHECK)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: CAN Bus Check.
Check for CAN communication system DTCs.
Tech Tips
If any CAN communication system DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting for the CAN communication system first.
CHECK FOR DTCS (SYSTEMS EXCEPT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU)
Tech Tips
The hybrid vehicle control ECU maintains communication with other ECUs, including the ECM. Therefore, if the hybrid vehicle control ECU outputs a DTC, it is necessary to check and record the DTCs of all systems.
If DTCs are present, check the relevant systems.
Tech Tips
If DTCs for the CAN communication system are present in addition to other DTCs, first troubleshoot and repair any malfunctions in the CAN communication system.
CLEAR DTCS
Note
Clearing the DTCs will also clear the freeze frame data.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.
