COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Inspect EV mode switch

        Component without harness connected

        (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F44-10 (S) - F44-9 (E) EV mode switch being pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        F44-10 (S) - F44-9 (E) EV mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.

    2. Inspect DRIVE mode switch


      1. B004PN3C79

        Component without harness connected

        (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F44-3 (DRV) - F44-9 (E) DRIVE mode switch being pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        F44-3 (DRV) - F44-9 (E) DRIVE mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.

    3. Inspect VAS OFF switch (w/ Vehicle Proximity Notification System)

        Component without harness connected

        (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F44-6 (IG) - F44-14 (ECU) VAS OFF switch being pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        F44-6 (IG) - F44-14 (ECU) VAS OFF switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.

    4. Inspect illumination

        Component without harness connected

        (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)

        Apply auxiliary battery voltage between the terminals of the switch, and check the illumination condition of the pattern select switch assembly.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Auxiliary Battery positive (+) - F44-13 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary Battery negative (-) - F44-2 (ILL-)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.

  2. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Inspect EV mode switch

        Component without harness connected

        (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F44-3 (S) - F44-9 (E) EV mode switch being pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        F44-3 (S) - F44-9 (E) EV mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.

    2. Inspect DRIVE mode switch

        Component without harness connected

        (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F44-10 (DRV) - F44-9 (E) DRIVE mode switch being pushed and held Below 50 Ω
        F44-10 (DRV) - F44-9 (E) DRIVE mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.

    3. Inspect illumination

        Component without harness connected

        (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)

        Apply auxiliary battery voltage between the terminals of the switch, and check the illumination condition of the pattern select switch assembly.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Auxiliary Battery positive (+) - F44-13 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary Battery negative (-) - F44-2 (ILL-)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.
