REAR BUMPER REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD

    Tech Tips


    • When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper cover using a heat light.

    • Use the same procedure for both rear bumper pad.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the rear bumper cover excessively.


    1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. When reusing the rear bumper cover:


      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new rear bumper pad.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the rear bumper pad.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Align the rear bumper pad with the mark-off line of the rear bumper cover, and then install it.

        Tech Tips

        Press the rear bumper pad firmly to install it.

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER LOWER RETAINER LH


    1. Attach the 2 claws and guide to install the rear bumper lower retainer LH.

    2. Install the 3 screws.

  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER LOWER RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  4. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Attach the guide to install the reflex reflector assembly LH.

    2. Install the screw.

  5. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER LOWER COVER


    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the rear bumper lower cover.

    2. Install the 8 clips labeled B.

    3. Install the 2 clips labeled A.

    4. Install the 4 screws.

  7. INSTALL NO. 4 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  9. INSTALL NO. 4 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  10. INSTALL NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  11. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)


    1. Attach the 6 clamps to install the No. 2 luggage room wire.
