PROCEDURE
REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP
REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM LH
REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM RH
REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH

Detach the 2 claws.
Detach the 2 guides.
Remove the double-sided tape and front fender to cowl side seal LH.

REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING LH

Put protective tape around the windshield outside moulding LH.
Slide the upper end of the windshield outside moulding LH in the direction of the arrow (1) in the illustration to widen the gap between the windshield outside moulding LH and vehicle body.
Insert moulding remover B between the windshield outside moulding LH and the top of the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip.
While pushing the claw on the upper portion of the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip in the direction of the arrow (2) in the illustration, pull the moulding upward in the direction of the arrow (3) in the illustration and remove the upper portion of the windshield outside moulding LH.
Note
Make sure that the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip is not damaged when removing the windshield outside moulding LH.
If the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip is damaged, replace it with a new one.

Tech Tips
Remove a sufficient amount of the front portion of the roof headlining assembly so that windshield glass removal and installation procedures can be performed.
Partially remove the roof headlining assembly.

REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS
Note
The windshield glass may fall while performing this procedure. Therefore, use suction cups to hold the windshield glass from the outside of the vehicle.
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass when cutting as the No. 1 windshield glass stopperS are installed to the windshield glass.
Disconnect each connector.

Protective Tape |
Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body at the locations indicated in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Matchmarks do not need to be placed if not reusing the glass.
Install the suction cups to the windshield glass.

From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass as shown in the illustration.
Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
Note
When separating the glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.
To prevent the instrument panel from being scratched when removing the glass, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and instrument panel.
Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass.
Note
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when cutting through the adhesive.

Disconnect the 2 No. 1 windshield glass stoppers.
Note
The No. 1 and No. 2 windshield glass stoppers are installed on the windshield glass as shown in the illustration. Be careful not to damage the windshield glass when cutting off the adhesive.
To prevent the windshield glass from falling when performing this operation, be sure to hold the windshield glass using suction cups.
Tech Tips
Depending on the vehicle, either 1-piece or 2-piece type stoppers may be present.
Using suction cups, remove the windshield glass.
Note
Be careful not to drop the windshield glass.
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the windshield glass.

When reusing the windshield glass:
Using a scraper, remove the windshield outside moulding.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Be sure to replace the windshield outside moulding with a new one.
REMOVE NO. 1 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER

When reusing the windshield glass:
Using a scraper, remove the 2 No. 1 windshield glass stoppers.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Be sure to replace the 1-piece type No. 1 windshield glass stopper with a new pair of 2-piece type No. 1 and No. 2 windshield glass stoppers.
REMOVE NO. 1 WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING CLIP
Tech Tips
Perform the following procedure if replacing the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip.
Use the same procedure for the other clips.
Put a 4 mm drill bit into a drill.

Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm from the tip of the drill.
Tech Tips
Tape the 4 mm drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.
Lightly press the drill against the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip, grind the flanges of the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip and remove the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip.
Note
Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the clip to turn and result in the clip not being drilled through.
Do not pry the clip with the drill because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the clip or the drill bit.
Be careful as the drilled clip may become hot.
Remove the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip.
