OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  2. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX (w/ Spare Tire)

    Click here

  3. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH (w/ Spare Tire)

    Click here

  4. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Note


    • After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    • When removing front seat assembly RH, perform zero point calibration and sensitivity check.

      Click here

    • When replacing the occupant detection ECU, perform zero point calibration and sensitivity check.

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    1. Loosen the nut and disconnect the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

  7. REMOVE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. B002K1A

      Detach the claw and remove the occupant detection ECU.
