FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. B002HKBC01
      *A Front of the Vehicle
      *B Rear of the Vehicle
      B002HVY Set
      B002I10 Slowly Pull

      Attach the 3 hooks on the side of the airbag door facing the front of the vehicle and set the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly onto the airbag door.

    2. Slowly pull the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to attach the 3 hooks on the side of the airbag door facing the rear of the vehicle and install the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Attach the 2 wire harness clamps to install the No. 2 instrument panel wire.

      *1 Connector Lock

      Connect the airbag connector and push the connector lock.

      Note


      • When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      • Be sure to only connect the connectors to each corresponding color.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to connect the airbag connector on the other side.

  3. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    1. Connect the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal and tighten the nut.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }
    2. w/o Spare Tire:

      Attach the 2 claws to install the battery service cover.

  5. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX LH (w/ Spare Tire)

  6. INSTALL REAR DECK FLOOR BOX (w/ Spare Tire)

  7. INSTALL NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)

  8. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

  9. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
