REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)
REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX (w/ Spare Tire)
REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH (w/ Spare Tire)
PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notice before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
w/o Spare Tire:
Detach the 2 claws and remove the battery service cover.
Loosen the nut and disconnect the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal.
REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL
REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
Using a screwdriver, pull up and release the connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure to disconnect the airbag connector on the other side.
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire.
CAUTION:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

Remove the 2 screws.
Insert moulding remover B into the side of the airbag door facing the front of the vehicle and bend moulding remover B to detach the 3 hooks.
Pull the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the 3 hooks on the side of the airbag door facing the rear of the vehicle and remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.
