DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor RH detects an open in the outer rear view mirror indicator RH.

    Both of the following conditions are met:

  • The blind spot monitor main switch (combination switch assembly) is on.


  • The current flowing to the indicator is below a specified value when indicator operation voltage is being sent to the indicator.


  • Outer rear view mirror RH (outer rear view mirror indicator RH)

  • Outer rear view mirror assembly RH

  • Harness or connector

  • Blind spot monitor sensor RH

  • Outer mirror control ECU assembly RH

Note

When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor main switch (combination switch assembly) is on.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Clear DTCs
    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Trouble Codes
      OK
      DTC C1AB5 is not output.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the X1 blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the L5 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      X1-4 (OMIR) - L5-13 (BDSR) Always Below 1 Ω
      L5-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the outer mirror control ECU assembly RH.

    2. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L5-13 (BDSR) - l5-8 (BSM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L5-7 (GND) - l5-12 (TRN-) Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Disconnect the l5 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the IND2 outer rear view mirror RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      l5-8 (BSM+) - IND2-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      l5-12 (TRN-) - IND2-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. CHECK OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR RH


    1. Replace the outer rear view mirror RH.

      Click here

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Clear DTCs
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      DTC C1AB5 is not output.
