DESCRIPTION

    Both of the following conditions are met:

  • The blind spot monitor main switch (combination switch assembly) is on with the power switch on (IG).

  • The blind spot monitor sensor is not sending voltage to the buzzer but the buzzer receives voltage above a specified level for a specified period of time.

  • Blind spot monitor sensor RH

  • Rear cross traffic alert buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer)

  • Harness or connector

C1ABE Short to GND or Open in Buzzer

    Both of the following conditions are met:

  • The blind spot monitor main switch (combination switch assembly) is on with the power switch on (IG).

  • The current flowing to the buzzer is below a specified value when buzzer operation voltage is being sent to the buzzer.

  • Blind spot monitor sensor RH

  • Rear cross traffic alert buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer)

  • Harness or connector

Note


  • When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot main switch (combination switch assembly) is on.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Clear DTCs

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Trouble Codes
      OK
      DTC C1ABD and C1ABE are not output.
      Result
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT BUZZER - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH AND BATTERY)


    1. Disconnect the P42 rear cross traffic alert buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) connector.

    2. Disconnect the X1 blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P42-2 (BZN) - X1-3 (BUZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      P42-2 (BZN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P42-1 (BZP) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      P42-1 (BZP) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

  3. CHECK REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT BUZZER (BLIND SPOT MONITOR BUZZER)


    1. Replace the rear cross traffic alert buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer).

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Clear DTCs

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      DTC C1ABD and C1ABE are not output.
