HYBRID TRANSAXLE SIDE GEAR OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE REAR TRANSAXLE SIDE GEAR OIL SEAL


    1. for LH Side:


      1. A01COJLC02
        *a Hold
        *b Turn

        Using SST, remove the rear transaxle side gear oil seal from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

    2. for RH Side:


      1. A01CODKC02
        *a Hold
        *b Turn

        Using SST, remove the rear transaxle side gear oil seal from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

  3. INSTALL REAR TRANSAXLE SIDE GEAR OIL SEAL


    1. for LH Side:


      1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new rear transaxle side gear oil seal.

      2. A01CP5IN02

        Using SST and a hammer, install the rear transaxle side gear oil seal to the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

        09316-60011   ( 09316-00011 )
        Standard Depth
        7.1 to 8.1 mm (0.280 to 0.318 in.)

        Note


        • Do not install the rear transaxle side gear oil seal at an angle.

        • Do not damage the rear transaxle side gear oil seal.

    2. for RH Side:


      1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new rear transaxle side gear oil seal.

      2. A01CN8RN02

        Using SST and a hammer, install the rear transaxle side gear oil seal to the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

        Standard Depth
        7.1 to 8.1 mm (0.280 to 0.318 in.)

        Note


        • Do not install the rear transaxle side gear oil seal at an angle.

        • Do not damage the rear transaxle side gear oil seal.
