SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • Do not replace the spiral cable with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG).

  • Do not rotate the spiral cable when the following conditions are met: 1) The steering wheel is removed, 2) the battery is connected, and 3) the power switch on (IG).

  • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.

  • Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Lane Departure Alert System)

  3. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Lane Departure Alert System)

  4. REMOVE SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) (w/o Lane Departure Alert System)

      Disconnect the No. 1 switch wire connector.

    2. B002IX2

      Remove the 4 screws, and disconnect the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) from the steering wheel assembly.

    3. B002K7J

      Disengage the 5 guides to remove the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) with No. 1 switch wire from the steering wheel assembly.

    4. B002IR9

      Disconnect the 2 shift paddle switch (transmission shift switch assembly) connectors to remove the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) from the No. 1 switch wire.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH WIRE (w/o Lane Departure Alert System)

    Tech Tips

    There is no need to remove this unless the No. 2 switch wire is replaced.

      Disengage the No. 2 switch wire connector clamp from the steering wheel assembly.

    2. B002JP7

      Disengage the 2 guides to remove the No. 2 switch wire from the steering wheel assembly.

  6. REMOVE SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) (w/ Lane Departure Alert System)

      Disengage the guide to disconnect the No. 1 switch wire from the steering wheel assembly.

    2. Disconnect the No. 1 switch wire connector.

      Remove the 4 screws, and disconnect the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) from the steering wheel assembly.

    4. B002J9G

      Disconnect the 2 shift paddle switch (transmission shift switch assembly) connectors to remove the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) from the No. 1 switch wire.

    5. B002IWU

      Disengage the 6 guides to remove the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) with No. 1 switch wire from the steering wheel assembly.
