EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

   Click here

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

   Click here

3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

   2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

   3. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

   4. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

   5. Remove the gasket from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

5. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

   Click here

6. DISCONNECT INVERTER RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY

   Click here

7. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

   Click here

8. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 manifold converter insulator.

9. REMOVE NO. 2 EGR PIPE (w/ EGR System)

   
   

   1. 

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 2 EGR pipe.

   2. Remove the 2 gaskets.

10. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the bolt, nut and No. 2 manifold stay.

11. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the bolt, nut and manifold stay.

12. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.

    2. 

       Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket.

13. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator.
