DESCRIPTION

When the power switch is turned on (IG), power is supplied to the parking brake ECU assembly. This DTC is stored if the IG power source is not input to the parking brake ECU assembly when communication with other ECUs occurs.

Both of the following conditions are met:


  1. Power switch on (IG)

  2. When the hybrid vehicle control ECU communicates with the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication, IG power supply is not received for approx. 3 seconds.


  • Wire harness or connector

  • IG power source circuit

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

Yes An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the multi-information display.

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the power switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • When replacing the parking brake ECU assembly, operate the electric parking brake switch (integration control and panel assembly), as the parking brake indicator light (red) blinks when the power switch is first turned on (IG).

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (IG STATUS / IG SWITCH)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.


      Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Data List

      IG Status Power switch information display ON or OFF

      ON: Power switch is on (IG)

      OFF: Power switch is on (ACC) or off

      IG Switch IG power source information display ON or OFF

      OFF: IG power source is not input into parking brake ECU assembly

  2. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the Q24 and Q25 parking brake ECU assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the 4A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Q24-5 (IG) or 4A-32 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
