SFI SYSTEM(w/ Canister Pump Module), Diagnostic DTC:P060E

DTC Code DTC Name
P060E Internal Control Module Throttle Position Performance

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

The ECM monitors the signals received from the No. 1 throttle position sensor and stop light switch assembly. As the ECM monitors the STP signal of the stop light switch assembly and the No. 1 throttle position sensor, if these signals do not correlate, this DTC is stored.

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area MIL Memory
P060E Internal Control Module Throttle Position Performance

Either of the following conditions is met (1 trip detection logic):

  • There is an ECM main CPU error.

  • There is an ECM sub CPU error.

MONITOR STRATEGY

Required Sensors/Components (Main) ECM
Frequency of Operation Continuous

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS

DMA communication error Not detected

TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS

When one of following conditions is met: Condition 1 or 2
1. Difference of main throttle position and sub throttle position 0.3 V or higher
2. Stop light switch signal (Main CPU) and stop light switch signal (Sub CPU) Different

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

  1. Turn the power switch off.

  2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.

  3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

  4. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 16 seconds or more.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

After turning power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

Tech Tips

Read freeze frame data using the GTS. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P060E)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
