REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL REAR DOOR UPPER OUTSIDE MOULDING PAD

   
   

   1. Clean the rear door outside moulding.

      
      

      1. Remove any double-sided tape from the rear door outside moulding.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

   2. Install a new rear door upper outside moulding pad.

      
      

      1. Remove the release paper from the new rear door upper outside moulding pad.

         Tech Tips

         After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      2. Install the rear door upper outside moulding pad as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY

   Tech Tips

   When installing the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly, heat the vehicle body and rear door outside moulding sub-assembly using a heat light.

   Heating Temperature

   Item	Temperature
   Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
   Rear Door Outside Moulding Sub-assembly	20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

   Note

   Do not heat the vehicle body or rear door outside moulding sub-assembly excessively.

   
   

   1. Install 8 new clips.

   2. Install a new gasket.

   3. Clean the vehicle body surface.

      
      

      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove any double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

   4. Install the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.

      
      

      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.

      2. Remove the release paper from the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.

         Tech Tips

         After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Engage the 8 clips and attach the double-sided tape.

         Tech Tips

         Press the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly firmly to temporarily install it.

      4. Install the nut.

      5. Install the hole plug.

      6. 

         Engage the 4 clips to install the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.

3. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY

   Tech Tips

   When installing the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly, heat the vehicle body and rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly using a heat light.

   Heating Temperature

   Item	Temperature
   Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
   Rear Door Lower Outside Moulding Sub-assembly	20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

   2. Install a new rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly.

      
      

      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly.

      2. Remove the release paper from the new rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly.

         Tech Tips

         After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Engage the 5 clips and attach the double-sided tape.

         Tech Tips

         Press the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly firmly to temporarily install it.

      4. 

         Engage the clip.

      5. Install the 2 clips.

      6. Install the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly with the screw.
