AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM Automatic High Beam Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) detects auto high beam switch signals. The automatic high beam system can be turned on and off by operating the automatic high beam switch.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.*

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in On-Vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure.*

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

      OFF: Automatic high beam switch not pressed

      ON: Automatic high beam switch pressed

  2. INSPECT AUTO HIGH BEAM SWITCH


    1. Remove the auto high beam switch.

    2. Inspect the auto high beam switch.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUTO HIGH BEAM SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the F18 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F8-4 - F18-23 (AHBI) Always Below 1 Ω
      F8-4 or F18-23 (AHBI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F8-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
