LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

2. Turn the light control switch to the AUTO position.

3. Cover the automatic light control sensor.

4. Check that the taillights and low beam headlights come on.

5. Uncover the automatic light control sensor.

6. Check that the low beam headlights and taillights turn off.

LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for LHD)

1. When the light control switch is in the AUTO position

   
   

   1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

   2. Turn the taillights, low beam headlights, high beam headlights, front fog lights or rear fog lights on.

   3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Tech Tips

      If the vehicle speed was not less than 10 km/h (6 mph) when the ignition switch was turned off, open the driver door.

   4. Check that all of the lights turn off immediately.

2. When the light control switch is in the tail or head position

   
   

   1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

   2. Turn the low beam headlights, high beam headlights or front fog lights on.

   3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Tech Tips

      If the vehicle speed was not less than 10 km/h (6 mph) when the ignition switch was turned off, open the driver door.

   4. Check that the low beam headlights, high beam headlights and front fog lights turn off immediately.

      Tech Tips

      Taillights, clearance lights, license plate lights and rear fog light remain on.

LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for RHD)

1. When the taillights are on (headlights are not on)

   
   

   1. Close all of the doors.

   2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

   3. Turn the taillights on.

   4. Turn the ignition switch off.

   5. Open the driver door.

   6. Check that all of the lights turn off immediately.

2. When the headlights are on

   
   

   1. Close all of the doors.

   2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

   3. Turn the headlights on.

   4. Turn the ignition switch off.

   5. Open any of the doors.

   6. Close the door.

   7. Check that all of the lights turn off after 30 seconds (delay function).

      Tech Tips

      Before the lights turn off, if the lock button on the key is pushed after all of the doors are locked, all of the lights will turn off immediately.

DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

1. Turn the light control switch to the off, tail or AUTO position (with the low beam headlights not turned on via the automatic light control system).

2. Start the engine.

3. Release the parking brake.

4. Check that the daytime running lights come on.

FOLLOW ME HOME SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for LHD)

1. Turn the ignition switch off.

2. Turn the light control switch to the off or AUTO position.

3. Pull the light control switch to flash the headlights once.

4. Check that the low beam headlights come on for approximately 30 seconds.

   Tech Tips

   The length of time the lights illuminated can be changed using the customize function.

DOOR MIRROR FOOT LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Door Mirror Foot Light)

1. The operation and condition of this system are described below.

   Operation	Condition
   Illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out	When either of the following conditions is met, the lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out: The key enters any actuation area around the doors when the ignition switch is off and all doors are closed.* Any door is unlocked when the ignition switch is off, and all doors are closed and locked. Tech Tips *: When the lights are on, if the key leaves the actuation areas around the doors, the lights fade out after approximately 3 seconds. The length of time the lights illuminated can be changed using the customize function.
   Fade out immediately	When any of the following conditions is met, the lights fade out immediately: All doors are locked when the ignition switch is off, all doors are closed and any door is unlocked. All doors are locked again when all doors are closed and locked. The ignition switch is ON.
