DESCRIPTION

This circuit provides power to the windshield wiper relay assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (IG POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)


    1. Disconnect the F79 windshield wiper relay assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F79-2 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      F79-16 (WIG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      Result

  2. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (GROUND CIRCUIT)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F79-12 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Result

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 4A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F79-2 (IG) - 4A-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      F79-16 (WIG) - 4A-29 Always Below 1 Ω
      F79-2 (IG) or 4A-10 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F79-16 (WIG) or 4A-29 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
