WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM Headlight Cleaner Motor and Relay Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The headlight cleaner control relay controls the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY - IG CIRCUIT)


    1. Disconnect the A42 headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A42-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

  2. INSPECT HEADLAMP CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    This check should be performed with the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly installed to the washer jar.

      Fill the washer jar with washer fluid.

    2. Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 of the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly, and a battery negative (-) lead to terminal 1.

    3. Check that washer fluid flows from the washer jar.

      OK
      Washer fluid is pumped from the washer jar.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY)


    1. Disconnect the A41 headlight cleaner control relay connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A42-1 or A41-6 (PB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
