POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM Power Back Door Warning System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the power back door warning system does not operate, one of the following may be malfunctioning: 1) wireless door lock control system, 2) power back door warning buzzer circuit or 3) multiplex network door ECU.

  • The power back door warning function can be customized. Make sure the function is ON.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in On-Vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure.*

  1. CHECK OPERATION


    1. Check power back door system operation.

  2. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (HAZARD ANSWER-BACK FUNCTION)

  3. REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on GTS.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the M19 power back door warning buzzer connector.

    2. Disconnect the X6 multiplex network door ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M19-1 (BZR+) - X6-5 (BZR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      M19-2 (BZR-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      M19-1 (BZR+) or X6-5 (BZR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
