FRONT AIR CONDITIONING UNIT DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY


    1. for LHD:


      1. Disconnect each connector.

        A018IA3

      2. Disengage each clamp to remove the air conditioning harness assembly.

    2. for RHD:


      1. Disconnect each connector.

        *A for Automatic Air Conditioning System - -

      2. Disengage each clamp to remove the air conditioning harness assembly.

  2. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE


    1. A018J25

      Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts and cooler expansion valve.

  3. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A018HCZ

      Remove the 6 screws.

    2. A018J8S

      Disengage the guide and disconnect the wire harness.

    3. Disengage the 5 claws to remove the air conditioning radiator assembly from the blower assembly with cooler evaporator sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly with No. 1 cooler thermistor.

    3. A018HLU

      Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER THERMISTOR

  6. REMOVE CENTER HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT


    1. A018L8T

      Disengage the 4 claws to remove the center heater to register duct.

  7. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 2 claws and guide to remove the No. 3 air duct sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  8. REMOVE ASPIRATOR (for Manual Air Conditioning System)

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the aspirator.

  9. REMOVE ASPIRATOR (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the aspirator.

  10. REMOVE QUICK HEATER ASSEMBLY (w/ PTC Heater)


    1. A018ILE

      Remove the screw.

    2. A018J2U

      Disengage the clamp.

    3. A002BQT

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws to remove the quick heater bracket.

    4. A018M4W

      Remove the 2 screws and quick heater assembly.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


    1. A018HZD

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE HEATER RADIATOR UNIT SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A018JFW

      Disengage the 3 claws to remove the heater clamp.

    2. A018JVY

      Remove the screw and clamp.

    3. A018JEL

      Remove the heater radiator unit sub-assembly.

      Note

      Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A018JVS

      Remove the 3 screws and No. 1 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.
