POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Collision Door Lock Release Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When an impact is detected, a relay inside the door control battery is operated to switch the power source of the door lock with motor assemblies from the vehicle battery to the door control battery.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.*

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in How to Proceed with Troubleshooting to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure.*

  1. CHECK DOOR LOCK OPERATION


    1. Check door lock operation.

      All doors lock and unlock normally.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR CONTROL BATTERY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU))


    1. Disconnect the F88 door control battery connector.

    2. Disconnect the F18 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F88-9 (ACTG) - F18-3 (ACTG) Always Below 1 Ω
      F88-9 (ACTG) or F18-3 (ACTG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR CONTROL BATTERY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 4A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F88-8 (IG) - 4A-51 Always Below 1 Ω
      F88-8 (IG) or 4A-51 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG1 NO. 3 RELAY POWER SOURCE)
