Note


  • When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor system is turned on.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK REAR CROSSING TRAFFIC ALERT BUZZER (BLIND SPOT MONITOR BUZZER)


    1. Check that the rear crossing traffic alert buzzer (blind pot monitor buzzer) sounds when the initial check is performed.

  2. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Trouble Codes
      OK
      No DTCs are output.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR CROSSING TRAFFIC ALERT BUZZER - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH)


    1. Disconnect the M44 buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M44-1 (BZP) - Body ground Ignition Switch ON 11 to 14 V
      M44-2 (BZN) - Body ground Below 1 V
      M44-2 (BZN) - M44-1 (BZP) Below 1 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR CROSSING TRAFFIC ALERT BUZZER - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH AND BATTERY)


    1. Disconnect the M44 rear crossing traffic alert buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) connector.

    2. Disconnect the L23 blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M44-2 (BZN) - L23-3 (BUZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      M44-2 (BZN) or L23-3 (BUZ) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M44-2 (BZN) or L23-3 (BUZ) - Body ground Ignition Switch ON Below 1 V
      M44-1 (BZP) - Body ground Ignition Switch ON 11 to 14 V
      M44-1 (BZP) - Body ground Ignition Switch off Below 1 V
