PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH)

      Component without harness connected

      (Map Light Assembly (Manual (SOS) Switch))

      Remove the map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch).

      Click here

    2. Connect 4 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.

    3. Connect a positive (+) from the batteries lead to terminal 20 (RRID) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 19 (GND3) of the map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.

    4. Check if the manual (SOS) switch illuminates.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH))


    1. Disconnect the F140 telematics transceiver connector.

    2. Disconnect the S1 map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F140-9 (SLED) - S1-20 (RRID) Always Below 1 Ω
      F140-26 (SIG-) - S1-19 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      F140-9 (SLED) or S1-20 (RRID) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F140-26 (SIG-) or S1-19 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
