DESCRIPTION

The navigation receiver assembly and television display assembly are connected by the AVC-LAN communication line.

This DTC is stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the navigation receiver assembly and television display assembly.

  • The television display assembly is/was not connected while the engine switch is/was on (IG) or on (ACC)

  • Communication between the master unit and the television display assembly is not possible when the engine is started

  • AVC-LAN circuit between master unit and television display assembly

  • Television display assembly

  • Navigation receiver assembly

  • Harness or connector

  1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

      • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.

      • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

  2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).

      Note

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE)


    1. Disconnect the S8 television display assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S8-17 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      S8-1 (+B) - S8-17 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      S8-2 (ACC) - S8-17 (GND) Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the F118 navigation receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the S8 television display assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S8-3 (TX1+) - F118-9 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S8-4 (TX1-) - F118-10 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S8-3 (TX1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S8-4 (TX1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the television display assembly with a new or known good one.

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.
