PARKING BRAKE CABLE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the No. 1 parking brake cable support bracket, No. 2 parking brake cable support bracket and No. 2 cable support bracket to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

      *3 No. 2 Cable Support Bracket - -

    2. Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the 4 bolts and nut.

      Torque:
      Bolt (A)
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }
      Bolt (B)
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }
      Bolt (C)
      18.8 N*m  { 192 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

    3. Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the backing plate with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the parking brake cable support bracket, cable support bracket and No. 2 cable support bracket to the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. Install the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }
      Bolt (B)
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }
      Bolt (C)
      18.8 N*m  { 192 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

    3. Install the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly to the backing plate with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  3. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH

  4. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake control pedal assembly.

    2. Install the clip to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

      Bend the parking brake control pedal assembly claw.

    4. Temporarily install the No. 1 wire adjusting nut and lock nut.

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake control pedal assembly.

    2. Install the clip to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

      Bend the parking brake control pedal assembly claw.

    4. Temporarily install the No. 1 wire adjusting nut and lock nut.

  7. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for LHD)
