PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  2. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. A018M6D

      Remove the No. 1 wire adjusting nut from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. A018LQM

      Pull up the parking brake control pedal assembly claw.

      Note

      Do not damage the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. A018L94

      Remove the clip from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    4. Remove the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake control pedal assembly.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. A018LCC

      Remove the No. 1 wire adjusting nut from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    2. A018KVG

      Pull up the parking brake control pedal assembly claw.

      Note

      Do not damage the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. A018HEV

      Remove the clip from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    4. Remove the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake control pedal assembly.

  5. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH

  6. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the backing plate.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts, nut and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. Remove the No. 1 parking brake cable support bracket, No. 2 parking brake cable support bracket and No. 2 cable support bracket from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A018J1I

      Remove the 2 bolts and separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly from the backing plate.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. Remove the parking brake cable support bracket, cable support bracket and No. 2 cable support bracket from the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.
