PARKING BRAKE PEDAL(for LHD) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

    for Manual Seat: Click here

    for Power Seat: Click here

  4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  6. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    Tech Tips

    Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH to the extent that allows the removal of the center pillar lower garnish LH.

  7. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    Click here

  9. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    Tech Tips

    Disconnect the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH to the extent that allows the removal of the center pillar lower garnish LH.

  10. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH

  11. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

    Click here

  12. SEPARATE FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 3 floor carpet hooks to separate the front floor carpet assembly.

  13. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX INSERT

  14. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT

    Click here

  15. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT

    Click here

  16. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST

      Disengage the 2 clips and remove the front floor footrest.

  17. DISCONNECT FRONT NO. 3 FLOOR SILENCER

      Disconnect the front No. 3 floor silencer to the extent that allows the removal of the parking brake control pedal assembly.

  18. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH

      B003ZIE Bolt
      B003Z8F Screw

      Remove the 4 bolts, 2 screws and clip (A).

    2. Disengage the 2 clips (B) and remove the front floor cover LH.

  19. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER

      B003ZIE Nut
      B003Z8F Screw

      Remove the nut and 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the front center floor cover.

  20. REMOVE REAR ENGINE SERVICE COVER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and rear engine service cover assembly from the body.

  21. LOOSEN NO. 1 WIRE ADJUSTING NUT


    1. Completely release the parking brake pedal.

      *1 Lock Nut
      *2 No. 1 Wire Adjusting Nut

      Remove the lock nut and loosen No. 1 wire adjusting nut to completely release the parking brake cable.

  22. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.

  23. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  24. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

      Slide the rubber boot as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the parking brake equalizer from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

  25. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY WITH MAIN BODY ECU

  26. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

  27. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

    2. Disengage the clamp.

      Pull out the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly toward the cabin.

      Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    5. A002BDK

      Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly from the body.
