REAR SPEED SENSOR(for 2WD) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  • The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the rear speed sensor is malfunctioning, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

  • If the rear speed sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  4. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM COVER

  5. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG

  7. REMOVE REAR DISC

  8. SEPARATE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

      Remove the bolt and separate the skid control sensor wire.

    2. A002A45

      Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

  9. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
